Welcome to the CGRER Forecast Webpage for ABC-2K5

The Atmospheric Brown Clouds (ABC) field campaign at Cheju Island is taking place from October, 2004. This campaign will investigate the relationship between air pollution and climate issues over East Asia and Western Pacific. Center for Global & Regional Environmental Research at the Universioty of Iowa, is providing daily chemical weather forecasts in support of this experiment.

Two coordinated forecasts are produced daily. The meteorological forecast iss provided by the CFORS/RAMS system in Kyushu University, Japan. We are providing daily STEM tracer and STEM-2K3 full-chemistry forecasts in 80km horizontal resolution. These tracers are not designed to produce absolute quantities but rather reflect air mass characteristics (for example, CO tracers is only primary emitted CO, and does not include a background or contributions from hydrocarbon and methane oxidation). Photochemical and Aerosol forcasts are produced using the University of Iowa's STEM-2k3 model.
